FAQ

When is the 2023 event taking place?

This year’s event will be Thursday, October 12th, 2023 at the Chesterville Legion, in Chesterville, Ontario. Networking and social hour will begin at 6:30pm and the presentations will begin at 7:30pm.

The 100 Women event in North Dundas was capped at 200 participants. Is the men being capped as well?

The men’s event does not have a cap set for the event. Men can sign up anytime in the lead up to the event, and they can sign up on site that evening at a registration table specific for on-site sign-ups. We didn’t get to 200 registrants (yet!) last year anyways, so we have work to do!

Do I get a tax receipt for my $100 donation?

Yes, as only registered not-for-profit and charitable organizations that can issue tax-deductible receipts can participate.

Cheques are written directly to the charitable organization chosen and NOT to 100 Men Who Care North Dundas.

Tax receipts will be issued directly by the charitable organization for your donation and will be mailed out within 30 days of the event.

How do I make my $100 donation? Who do I make my cheque out to?

Donation by cheque for tracking purposes is prefered when writing the tax receipts and having an address to mail you your receipt.

Cheques are not required upon sign up. You bring your cheque that evening of the event and it will be collected at the registration table.

The “payable to” section is left blank, and the names of the charities with the most number of votes will be filled in at the end of the evening by our volunteers and provided directly to the organization to deposit and to issue your tax receipt.

If you need to pay by cash, that is OK too. We will put it in an envelope and have you write your address on it so they know who/where to write the tax receipt to.

Do any of my donated funds go to administration costs of 100 Men Who Care?

None at all! That is the beauty of the 100 Men Who Care concept.

The event is organized and operated entirely by volunteers and any venue, snacks etc. required to run the meetings are covered by committee members or donations. There will be a cash bar on site that evening.

100% of the money raised at our meetings goes directly to the selected organizations!

How will the funds be awarded to the charities?

At the meeting, after each charity has had a brief chance to outline their project, the participants will cast a ballot for their top choice. The number of projects that will receive funds will depend on different factors:

a) The number of men participating and donating their $100
b) The number of charities that are on the ballot
c) The amounts requested by each project

The Committee will provide full details to the participants on the evening of the event once all the numbers and figures are confirmed.

What happens if I sign up and cannot attend the actual event?

It is understandable that you may not be able to attend the event. We know many have busy schedules! But that is no problem. You can provide your cheque to a friend that is planning to attend. They can hand your cheque in at the registration desk that night, and get your ballot to fill in on your behalf.

Do you have to live in North Dundas to sign up and participate?

Not at all. We have several men who have lived in the area in the past, worked here, or have a local connection. We welcome any men who want to make a difference in North Dundas!
