Charities

Last year’s 100 Men Who Care had some incredible North Dundas organizations, each with a deserving story.

Art on the Waterfront

Art on the Waterfront is seeking $10,000 from 100 Men Who Care.

The two-day festivities are divided into the ever-popular Kid-Zone, the Music
stage and drinks area and the Vendors set up in the center of town and along thedock. Demonstrations take place in both the kid Zone and the street crossing area in front of the gazebo and Scotia Bank parking lot.

This is a wonderful platform for artists to come together to share their creations. This whole event is put on through donations. This money will allow Art on the Waterfront to continue to be a success in the future.

Carefor’s Nor-Dun Centre

Carefor’s Nor-Dun Centre is submitting a request to the 100 Men Who Care of North Dundas for a total amount of $6,000.

Carefor is in need of new kitchen equipment and kitchen window replacement to support its growing demand for its various meal and dining programs.

Carefor is hoping to have this work completed prior to the end of March 2024.

Community Food Share DS

With more individuals and families facing food insecurity the demand for our food bank services has grown over the past year. This increased demand has depleted our warehouse stock and food bank shelves are really running short on nonperishable foods.

Community Food Share is submitting a request to 100 Men Who Care for $10,000.00 to purchase nonperishable food locally immediately.

Nation Valley ATV Club

NVATV Club is in search of $6500.00 for new equipment. The 350km+ trails that are maintained by the NVATV are done by volunteers. Many hours are spent removing brush and limbs from trails by hand. This task proves to be very labor intensive.

The NVATV Club is looking to purchase a limb trimmer that mounts to the side of a side by side. This will save many volunteer hours cleaning trails, and allow volunteers to focus their time in other areas.

North Dundas Fire Services – Prevention

North Dundas Fire Prevention is submitting a request for $10,000 dollars.

The Fire Prevention Committee is a dedicated team of fire prevention officers and members who represent each of the four stations for ND Fire. Together we are responsible for fire prevention and public education activities across the Township.

Our goal is to secure an enclosed utility style trailer that will be used to store and transport all of our public education displays. This will ensure each station will have the ability to use every teaching tool regardless of the location or nature of the event. Additionally, our intent is to have fire safety messages displayed on the trailer making the actual trailer another tool at our disposal.

WDMH Foundation

WDMH Foundation is seeking $10,000 dollars to contribute to their fundraising efforts for the construction the new Dundas Manor building.

$18,000,000 is the community share that is needed to be raised of the $63,000,000 project cost; WDMH Foundation is currently at almost $12,000,000 thanks to the generous support of the community.

Timeline for completion: The plan is to have shovels in the ground this fall, with the project completed and residents moved in by spring of 2026.
