WDMH Foundation: IV infusion pump
Organization: WDMH Foundation
Project: Sapphire Pump (IV infusion pump)
Website/Social Media: wdmhfoundation.ca
Facebook
Amount Requested: $5,000
Description:
Equipment will be ordered once all of the funds are raised.
At Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH), a Sapphire Pump—also known as an IV infusion pump—is a lifeline for patients in our Medical-Surgical Department. These small but powerful devices ensure that essential fluids, medications, and blood products are delivered safely, accurately, and without delay. Whether it’s hydrating a patient, fighting an infection, managing pain, or providing a life-saving transfusion, these pumps play a vital role in patient care.
But right now, our team often has to search for an available pump, which can lead to delays in critical treatment. In an emergency, every second matters. A new IV pump in our Medical-Surgical Department means that more patients receive their medications on time, without staff having to scramble to find equipment. It ensures faster, more efficient, and uninterrupted care—something every patient deserves.
While an IV pump may not be the most eye-catching piece of equipment, it is one of the most essential—sitting right at a patient’s bedside, working quietly but tirelessly to aid in recovery. Without donor support, we risk being short on this vital equipment, making it harder for our team to deliver the high-quality care our community relies on.
At WDMH, we are committed to providing compassionate, exceptional care, but we can’t do it alone. Equipment like IV pumps is not government-funded, which is why your generosity matters so much.
By donating, you’re helping ensure that patients in our Medical-Surgical Department receive the care they need, when they need it most. Your support makes a difference.

Carefor Nor-Dun Support Centre: Patio
Organization: Carefor Nor-Dun Support Centre
Project: Picnic tables, umbrellas and planters
Website/Social Media: carefor.ca
Amount Requested: $6230
Description:
Carefor Nor-Dun Support Centre is raising funds to transform our outdoor area into a welcoming, comfortable patio—a place where seniors, people with disabilities, and their caregivers can sit, connect, and breathe in the simple joy of being outside. We need sturdy, safe patio furniture—accessible picnic tables, umbrellas, bases, and even some planters to brighten it up. Not just things, but tools for community. A patio becomes a meeting place. A table hosts a card game in the afternoons. A shady seat becomes the favorite spot for a quiet moment of reflection. Carefor Nor-Dun’s mission is to help people live independently and find joy in the golden years of their lives. This is about more than furniture. It’s about dignity. It’s about health. It’s about independence. It’s about joy.
Your donation helps give our clients the outdoor space they deserve. Because we all deserve a little sunshine, a little conversation, and a comfortable place to enjoy it. .
Boys & Girls Club (BGC): STEAM Squad
Organization: Boys & Girls Club (BGC)
Project: STEAM Squad – Empowering Youth Through Hands-On Learning
Website/Social Media: bgccornwallsdg.com
Amount Requested: $8,000
Description:
BGC Dundas Clubhouse is seeking $8,000 to launch STEAM Squad, a dynamic new initiative that and will engage STEM-based program into our after-school drop-in sites for both of our programs, youth in grade 1-6 and grade 7-12. This program will bring hands-on learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math directly to rural youth in a fun, accessible, and creative way.
Funding this project will allow us to:
- Purchase reusable equipment and activity kits for weekly STEAM sessions.
- Provide hands-on learning in areas like robotics, coding, 3D designs, and environmental science.
- Train our staff so they can confidently lead and inspire youth through engaging, future focused projects
STEAM Squad will be offered to youth within our current drop-in programs. By sparking curiosity, building confidence, and encouraging teamwork, this program will help local youth develop skills that prepare them for school, work, and life.
Together, we can inspire the next generation of thinkers, makers, and leaders—right here in North Dundas.
Estimated Cost of Program: $8000
Covers equipment, training, and activity materials for year-round programming.
Impact of Project
STEAM Squad will have a lasting impact and meaningful impact on the lives of local youth by providing them with opportunities they may not otherwise have access to. Through hands-on engaging activities that encourage learning, this program will spark creativity, build problem-solving skills, and boost confidence in subjects like science, technology, engineering, art and math while also increase critical thinking skills.
We expect to engage over 50 children and youth, ages 6–18, through STEAM Squad and will provide long-term access to hands-on, engaging learning opportunities that many rural youths would otherwise not experience. Youth will not only learn new skills—they’ll begin to see themselves as innovators, leaders, and capable young people with a future in STEM fields. For many, it will be the first time they’ve built a robot, coded a program, or created something from scratch. The program will also foster teamwork, resilience, and a sense of belonging—key protective factors in youth mental health and development.
STEAM Squad will place a strong emphasis on encouraging girls and young women in science and technology, helping girls build confidence, curiosity, and a sense of belonging in spaces where they are often underrepresented. We hope to inspire more young women to see themselves as future engineers, scientists, designers, and coders.
By embedding this program into our regular drop in’s, we’re creating long-term access to learning that’s fun, inspiring, and rooted in possibility. Your support will help ensure our rural youth are not left behind but instead are equipped and empowered for the future.
